Farmer Throws Bash to Keep His Kids Rooted on the Farm

Robert Burns, a frequent contributor to Hartke is Online! Is throwing a fundraiser to help defray the costs of his custody battle. He deeply desires to have his boys stay on the family farm and he is inviting all those within driving distance to join him for a farm seminar and organic farm dinner next Friday, in Ledyard, Connecticut.

Aiki farms will Host a GROW ALL WINTER farm seminar on Friday October 9th at 6:00 P.M. at 769 Shewville Road, in Ledyard, CT (just North of Iron Street).  The seminar will be followed by a rich organic meal, featuring many
raw food dishes, accompanied with music from THE LOCALS, a traditional old time string band.

This is a DONATIONS ONLY event to raise money for the Aiki Farms War Chest, to ward off legal fees to pay to keep Brucie & Guy, aged 9 & 5 home here in Ledyard, as Connecticut Courts attempt to force them to go live in Mexico. These fund raisers & seminars will allow Aiki Farms to remain with the boys in Connecticut, avoiding to sell the farm to pay for legal costs.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn survival winter growing techniques and keep Aiki Farms, a pioneer in Connecticut for the FARM TO CHEF program, serving the community with fresh food from an organic farm. Call (860) 536-6407, or e-mail burns at aikifarms.com for reservations or to make a donation.

Note from Kimberly: The above photo is not of Aiki Farms, it is a photo for artistic illustration purposes only. If Robert sends me some photos, I will add them to this post. To see all Robert’s articles on this blog click here to see all the Robert Burn’s articles.

avatarI would have never imagined that I would be blogging, or that I would join a group like Real Food Media. None of this would have happened without you. I mean more than the help you have given me, though I appreciate it very much. I also mean seeing the great good you do with your blog, with supporting WAPF, with advocating real food and the great info you provide on so many issues. There is such a desperate need for this information. You are an inspiration to me. Thank you for being who you are, and for doing what you do.
