Organic Valley, the largest organic milk company in America decides, as of January 2011, to purge itself of raw milk farmers in a decision controversial even amongst its own leaders. Please join me in sending a letter of protest their way. In a free market economy, this sort of monopolistic bullying should not stand.
Dear Organic Valley,
I am much dismayed at the shabby treatment you are giving to farmers in
your coop that have a fresh milk business in addition to working with you.
There are people like myself who need fresh milk for therapeutic
reasons. We go out of our way to buy it. It takes considerable
investment and energy that most people are unwilling to do. We are not a
threat to your business except for when you seek to destroy our access
to the food of our choosing.
Every time you try to hurt raw dairy, you will invariably get a media
backlash that fuels the interest in raw milk, and more people will learn
of its superior nutritional quality. If you would leave well enough
alone, the raw milk market could peacefully coexist with your store
bought milk.
What a shame. And, shame on you. You discredit your name by penalizing
farmers for offering another organic product. And how utterly
un-American are your actions.

What is the background of this issue. You have not presented any facts. I received and email requesting me to boycott Organic Valley, buy why?
Josh, please read the other blog story from yesterday. The link is at the bottom of my protest letter along with links to the other relevant facts.
Kimberly
I just sent an email to them using a version of your letter. Thanks for getting the word out. My farm at home was an Organic Valley member, but they are not anymore because they want to supply us with raw milk. Bless them!
I also sent a letter to those guys. I’ve been drinking raw milk for the past 2 years even since I discovered “real” milk was the reason for my acid reflux and digestive problems.
Your letter is perfect! I am off to write my own letter!
