Happy Thanksgiving!
You can make your own happy hour beverage! A different sort of craft for all you crafty men and women!
Here is a photo of one of my recent batches of Kombucha (recipe also found in Nourishing Traditions). This pro-biotic drink is made of fermented tea and sugar. Kombucha mushrooms
may be available through your local Weston A. Price Chapter Leader http://www.westonaprice.org/localchapters/index.html, at least they should know someone in the community with mushrooms to share! A new mushroom grows with each batch, so you will be able to give them away and get others started on this fun hobby.
I find Kombucha does have a little alcohol in it, and I wouldn’t personally serve it to children. But for us grownups, it is a lovely alternative for relaxing, while adding healthy bacteria to our digestive system. Kathy at the Weston Price Foundation National office recommends 2 ounce servings, this is a good idea, especially if you have never had Kombucha before. It is potent stuff!
