Osteoporosis and Raw Milk, A Video Testimony

by Kimberly Hartke, Publicist, Realmilk.com

This is a story I have wanted to share on this blog for a very long time. I met Kathy at a farm buyers club “farm drop” two years ago. When I learned that raw dairy products played a role in her regenerating her bone density, I knew this would give hope to the millions of Americans facing osteoporosis.

Kathy increased her bone density by 20%, and has the medical tests to prove it! Here is her video testimony.

  1. I’m not surprised, high-fat dairy contains a lot of Vitamin k2 which has been shown to have a massive effect on bone health in research.

  2. Would have been much more helpful to your readers if she had said how much dairy she took on a daily basis. And she said she supplemented with calcium, that diminishes the theory that it was the raw dairy that increased her bone density. I am a raw milk user and endorse it heartily but let’s be careful to back up what we’re espousing.

    • There is no way to know definitively what contributed to the increase. However, I had taken calcium supplements before and my DEXA scan was still low, but I noticed the greatest increase after I started with the raw dairy. I feel raw dairy played an important role but I acknowledge that other factors could also have helped. I was just relating my own experience, not guaranteeing any results for anyone else.

I ate 8-10 oz of raw dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt, butter) a day.

  3. This is very encouraging. I had a bone density test about 3 years ago and was told I have osteoporosis. Since then, I acquired milk goats and drink their milk and make raw cheese also. I have not had another test since then, but will be very interested to see if I’ve had an improvement in my bone density because of the raw milk.

  4. This is wonderful! Only food enables our bodies to heal themselves. Only real food.

  5. Hello, My son increased his bone density from the 50th percentile (at age 5) to the 84-98th percentile (depending on which bone was measured) after 3 years of drinking raw Jersey milk. We changed nothing else, no calcium supplements or any other supplements, no extra exercise. We did not introduce raw butter or raw cheese, only liquid milk. He was measured because we have an MD friend who does bone density research and was looking for volunteers. We had switched our family to raw dairy a few weeks after the first measurement.

  6. You may do even better by adding bone broths to your diet as well as the raw milk. Broth made from bones that have been cooked for long periods of time contain many restorative properties for bones. You will be amazed at the extent of benefits you will receive.
