Bratwurst at the Beach

Bratwurst Lunch at Islamorada Bungalow

Recipe-less Luncheon Makes for Quick Vacation Meal

Here is another quick and breezy lunch I served on the back deck of Islamorada Bungalow. It took all of 10 minutes to prepare!

Just fried up some grass-fed bratwurst, sliced onions and sliced yellow squash. Served with homemade mustard and freshly homemade lemonade (lemon juice, water and honey) on the back deck of our beach house.

Less expensive than eating out, and because of the custom made bratwurst, quite a gourmet feast!

When planning your next family vacation, consider the benefits of renting a condo or house.  Having a full kitchen allows you to bring your farm fresh foods on vacation with you (we back a cooler with grass fed meats, raw milk, yogurt, and butter) and a box of basics like maple syrup, celtic sea salt, palm sugar, oatmeal, etc.). If you eat in for most of your meals, you will save a small fortune on dining out!

  1. What a lovely vacation!! My mom and I visited Paulina Lake Lodge last weekend in Central Oregon (30 SE of Bend, OR) and stayed in a lovely little cabin with a full kitchen. We didn’t cook there much because we were using it as a base for exploring the area, but I can imagine what a great place it would be to take a family. As we explored we came across three other similar “resorts” with cabins on fishing lakes (East Lake Resort, Elk Lake Resort and Lava Lake Resort).
Here’s a photo of our cabin, and from there you can see more photos of my trip to Central Oregon.

  3. Ah, of course!  A
condo as a place for the vacation easily provides all the necessities and
comforts of a real home.  That’s home
away from home, with the kitchen always available for the hearty foods.  I could just imagine a jazzy song while
cooking foods by the beachside, all with the incredible view of the waters and
    people bustling around.

Yes, Darius, in this case it was actually a little bungalow! It is
amazing to me that more people don’t rent condos or houses at the beach.
They are very price competitive, and actually help you save money by
being able to cook more meals.
